Date: February 6-9, 2010 We've presented this workshop several times in the past few years, and it has always been a rich learning experience that is both fun and profound. We've worked with these teachings since Hyemeyohsts Storm brought them to Rites of Passage 30 years ago, refining their application for people of the world today, revising as we've learned more. The idea of the Four Directions can be found within many cultures, showing up in cycles or seasons: --The four quadrants of the compass: East, South, West, North The Medicine Wheel teachings present a symbolic pattern presenting the human world within the larger container of the natural world, giving a renewed and healed meaning to "human nature." In this workshop, we'll explore each direction via discussion, sharing, time spent with an assignment in nature, telling the story of this encounter, and mirroring of the story by staff. Note: With advance notice, we can arrange to present this program for groups of 8 or more. |
